How It Works

The complete guide to
stake-based job signaling

Understanding the mechanism that aligns incentives and creates meaningful signals in the job market.

01

For Candidates

Stake to Apply

Put money behind your confidence

When you find a role you're genuinely interested in, you stake a small amount proportional to the salary. This isn't a fee—it's a commitment that proves your confidence.

  • Receive an offer: Your stake is returned in full. Your confidence was justified.
  • Accept the offer: You receive your stake back plus a share of forfeited stakes from other applicants.
  • No offer: Your stake goes to the bonus pool, distributed to successful candidates.

Example: $100k Role

Your stake$25
Get an offer+$25 returned
Accept the offer+$450 bonus
No offer−$25 forfeited

For Employers

Example: $100k Role

Your stake$2,500
High efficiency (≥20%)Full refund
Make a hire+ Bonus
Low efficiency (<5%)Partial forfeit

Stake to Post

Prove this is a real opportunity

When you post a role, you stake an amount proportional to the salary. This signals to candidates that this is a real position you intend to fill.

  • Hiring efficiency matters: Your stake return depends on your offer-to-application ratio.
  • High efficiency: Maintain a high offer rate, receive your full stake back and may earn a bonus.
  • Low efficiency: Vague or aspirational listings that attract poor matches forfeit portions of the stake.

How Settlement Works

Resolution Process

When an employer closes a job posting

The settlement process begins:

  • Platform fee: 5% of all candidate stakes go to the platform.
  • Offers issued: Candidates who received offers get their remaining 95% stake back.
  • Bonus pool formed: Remaining stakes from rejected candidates form the bonus pool.
  • Distribution: Candidates who accepted offers split the bonus pool proportionally.

If no one accepts an offer, rejected candidates receive 95% of their stakes back. The mechanism ensures that overconfident applicants fund rewards for well-calibrated ones.
